Slavko Crnobrnja isthe last blacksmith and farrierin the village of Martinci (Srem) and its surroundings. The times when horse-drawn vehicles and carts were status symbols irretrievably passed already a few decades ago and the need for shoeing horses is diminishing. The old craftsman talks about the old way of life, the secrets of his trade and the awareness that there are no potential apprentices who would continue the blacksmith’s and farrier’s trades in Srem.
