Story about a peasant and a calf who are the only survivors of a German punitive expedition passing through their village. Retreating before the dangers of war, the peasant develops a deep attachment to the calf and a desire to save it at costs. Liberation comes, and the army collects all the livestock, taking away his calf.
ĐorđeKadijević (1933) is an art critic, film and television screenwriter and director, as well as set designer for his films. He studied at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade. His first film The Feast (1967) was directed when he was member of the Cinema Club “Beograd”, after which he received the Best debut award at the Pula Film Festival. His most significant television works include Belgrade Stories, Vuk Karadžić (TV series), Karađorđe’s Death.
