The People of Tangier is a poetic documentary that captures the soul of Tangier through the voices, faces, and rhythms of its inhabitants. Blending intimate interviews with evocative visuals, the film explores the city’s unique accent, identity, and cultural fusion a living reflection of its history as a crossroads between Africa and Europe. Through everyday stories and urban poetry, it reveals how Tangier’s people embody both nostalgia and modern vitality. The documentary is both a love letter and a portrait of a city constantly reinventing itself while holding onto its distinctive voice.

 


 

Achraf El Afia is a documentary filmmaker and director of photography with a Master’s in Documentary cinema, a Bachelor’s in Film and audiovisual studies, and a Diploma in Audiovisual image. Passionate about visual storytelling, his work explores identity, culture, and human connection through a poetic cinematic lens.
