The production of charcoal assumes a significant place in Serbian traditional culture. The film is a product of research in the areas of Dragačevo and Zaječar. Knowledge and skills used in the production of charcoal have been transferred from generation to generation. Today, this cultural heritage is quite alive and sustainable, and the craft allows for reasonable living. Entire families are included in the work. Building kilns demands special craft. The choice of wood, laying, directing the draft, cooling are all prerequisites for getting good quality charcoal.
