Out with Winter was inspired by a famous Lithuanian poem, which is full of gnomes, witches, wolves, devils and magic in the depths of winter – the kind that we rarely see nowadays. The new generation of children, often unfamiliar with grandma’s tale, improvise their own version of the poem. As we travel from winter to summer and from countryside to town, we witness acts of resilience defying both the cold and darkness of the season and of the spirit. The film offers a glimpse into individual and communal rituals that can bring solace, strength and hope.
