The Pannonian Sea is gone, but the corn fields remained. People from afar came to the fields and raised their banners high, to show the way to the brothers from afar on their way to the promised world. This film awakens the ancient sea that lies forgotten in the sediments of memory about a dreamy landscape that lies silent in the heart of Europe. With the global environmental crisis, the rock-solid, dry soil becomes a painful retrospect and a reminder of the eternal changeability of the landscape. But the calm, almost Zen energy of the film promises the poetics of the apocalypse. The landscapes of the evening sky over the plain depict the inner landscapes of vast wastelands, lonely people, tamed land, peaceful rivers and shared coexistence.

Marko Cvejić(1978) graduated in film direction at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. Founded an independent production house Mandragora film, within which he produced most of his films. Unencumbered by language, space and national identity, his films represent the wide cultural diversity of the Balkans.
