In the 1960s, the media pictures of the Nigerian Civil War shaped the notion of a continent. This was also the case for Christine Moderbacher’s father, who decades later wants to help his priest Sibinus build a Catholic school in his Nigerian hometown. Joining them: the daughter and her camera. A personal father-daughter journey, and a cinematic diary about interdependencies and the incompatibility of independence movements and Christian missionary projects.

„Todas Íbamos a Ser Reinas“ (We Were All to be Queens) is an autoethnographic journey back and forth, past and present, through the VHS home videos of the filmmaker's childhood. The film questions the social and cultural structures that women are put through from a very young age to become the perfect woman, exploring the tradition of Valencia's Fallas as their ultimate objectification.

Deeply disappointed in modern society, Rade (35) leaves for the wilderness and goes to live in his great-great-grandfather’s cabin. There, near the top of Sokolska Mountain, he herds sheep and enjoy’s sounds, colors and movements of nature and the traditional way of life. Seemingly lonely, he claims to actually be free. “The worst thing is to be in company but be lonely!”. And in the evenings and during the night, he shares the images of life in the mountains with his friends, through Facebook and Instagram.
