After the Second World War, persons from less advanced parts of then Yugoslavia were part of organized colonization of Banat. For the local population, the process of adapting to new neighbours was more difficult than expected. The newcomers brought their language, customs, rules, oral heritage and moral norms that were completelz new to the locals, leading to antagonism between the two groups. Intolerance was at its peak in the first years after the war, with changes of the political system and transiotion from capitalist to socialist society, as the colonist were mostly in faver of the new system and the locals of the old one. In spite of differences there were many mixed marriages, leading to better understanding and finally to complete disappearance of differences.
